Together

We have a very unique story and know without a doubt that we were "meant to be together".   We met on a Mormon dating website in October of 2005.  I went on the website as a dare from a good friend of mine.  Eldon had been on the website for a while and was just about to remove his profile when the website matched us with a 97% compatibility rate.  Well, the computer ended up being right, but it was these two pictures that drew us to each other. My picture was from a Halloween party and Eldon was just looking as handsome as he always does.   We couldn't resist each other!
Within a few days, we were communicating online, and then within just a week or so, Eldon invited me to a service project helping to put up Christmas lights at the Mesa Temple.  I decided that it was worth the risk to meet such a cute and charming guy.  So I went.  We talked all night long, and Eldon asked me for a second date for just two days later.  After that second date, we were inseparable and saw each other every day.  Within a few weeks, we knew it was love and within two months, we were engaged!  We discovered that even though we were opposite in many aspects of our personalities, we absolutely loved each other and we complimented each other well.  My strengths made up for his weaknesses and vice versa.  Together, we were a perfect pair.  And we think a cute pair at that.

***Here is the unique part.  As we were searching through photo albums and boxes of photos for our wedding video, we came across pictures of Eldon at the airport leaving on his mission.  He was there with his family saying good bye for two years.  As we looked closer, we discovered that I was in the background of the pictures at the airport!!! Yep, seriously, I was there at the airport when he left on his mission.  I was at the airport seeing off another friend who was also leaving to serve a mission.  The best part of the story is that my girlfriends and I were checking out all the guys who were leaving on their missions (There were actually about 20 or so leaving on that same flight) and I remember thinking there was one really cute one.  Turns out (from finding pictures where all the missionaries were standing together) the cute one was Eldon.  So yeah, I picked out my husband about 4 years before we would ever really meet! Definitely meant to be***

We were married in the Mesa, Arizona temple for time and all eternity in August of 2006.  It was the happiest day of our lives.  What a blessed thing to truly marry your best friend! Everyone told us that the first year of marriage would be the hardest.  Honestly, the first year flew by and was absolutely easy and full of happiness.  We knew that if what everyone told us was true (about the first year), that we were set for life.  We absolutely grew more in love being together and learning more about each other each day.  That may be a little bit sappy, but absolutely true!

After a couple years of marriage, we were able to buy our first home.  With the home came the yard.  Once we had a yard, we were able to get this adorable little guy.  Our baby puppy, Zeus.  He is a toy poodle with a great personality.  He loves to play and snuggle and is great with people, especially children.  He brings a lot of joy and happiness to our home.   He is so much fun, and we cannot wait until he had kids to play with all the time.

After a few years of marriage, we decided it was time to begin our family.  That road has turned out to be quite a roller coaster.  The whole story can be found under the "Our Infertility" tab.  Needless to say, things in that area have not quite turned out like we had planned.  Sometimes though, Heavenly Father has a different plan than we do.  We firmly believe this is one of those times.  We will forever long for our sweet boys, and we will continue to hope for children until the day we are blessed and that dream comes true.  That dream has turned our hearts and our attention to adoption.  We hope that as the door has closed thus far toward having biological children, perhaps some loving and courageous person will open the door for us to have a family through adoption.  Until that day, Eldon and I will continue enjoying spending time together, leaning on each other, learning from each other and growing together in love.
